I am a recent college graduate with BA in Architecture. I am interested in working in a firm with a focus in yacht/sailboat design. I guess I am hesitant to send out my resume because I have an Art degree and I realize that a Science degree may be expected. I also am unsure of what position I would be applying for. I am tempted to attain an entry level graphic design position but I dont think Id be happy there. Is there such a thing as an enry level designer or would I be more successful aiming for a different job title? Any bit of info would help. I would love to hear how any professionals began. I guess I just need the confidence to get my resume out there.

Unfortunalety land based art/architecture is very different to nav Arch. I am afraid that unless you are very lucky You will have trouble getting your quals recognised in the yacht design field. Best to get what cross credits you can and start another course. Otherwise as you have surmised you'll just get a job as a draughtsman if you are lucky.

    Cheers
