Radio Controlled Canadian Gooses...

Hello...

Tooths - foots and gooses - when I was a kid and did not have a proper boat and had crashed all my model aeroplanes and was totally bored with life...

I got myself one of those plastic Canadian Gooses - chopped off its head - sealed it up with ply and epoxy and a brass tube in a tube that pivoted the head with the rudder (I only had two channels) that went to a pick up under the 'bird' and thru a windshield wiper pump which spit water out the bill....

She (It) was powered with an old electric car motor - I used a stiff spring as a universal to the shaft and a Kort like rudder - epoxied a weighted keel to it - went to the pond and chased geese or gooses but the motor noise or the fact that it was plastic never allowed me to get close enough for some squirt hits - gooses are smart...

Are kids who do the above smart - or just super bored....

Needless to say it (She) led to me meeting a curious other kid at the pond who had a real Parker 505 at home that needed some work and that was that...

The photo below reminded me of this - I laughed - I cried for times gone by...

Hello...

I currently throw my hook in at the dog beach and have BBQ's after a daysail on my Oday 22...

Imagine now - pulling up to same with one of these things - the dogs would go mad - also imagine putting a little pump and pick up like the model - the dogs and the owners would go mad - it would be surreal....

Shotgun owning dog owner shoots and kills giant swan pedal boat owner, wife says she knew it would happen...

He had an strange mind and a bitter spirit but I loved him she says through reserved tears...

Damn - I so want a pedal boat swan...

I think it would look great with a large sombreo on it's head.

 

I can see it being PT109ed. News headlines: "boat designer's dreams of circumnavigation...and body...sliced and diced by the hull of a freighter." Ow. But still, kids who express creativity like that have to be nurtured and are obviously quite a bit smarter (or at the least, more creative) than the rest.
