GRP or Steel

I'm thinking about buying either an 11m Dutch Steel boat or an 11m GRP Le Boat to use for 6 months on the French canals. April-Oct.
Do GRP boats wallow around more when moored or do steel boats site better in the water when moored?

 

steel needs care fiberglass not so much.

Neither hull material choice has inherit flaws in regard to "wallowing" about. Simply put it's a function of hull form (shape) than anything else and both hull material choices, can have good or bad attributes about them (again) depending on the shapes employed in the design.

 

Thanks, I think the ex-hire fleet boats from Le Boat might be the way to go.
They come with a complete survey and their hull design has been tried and tested over time.

 

The real test to to take a ride on one in rough condisions to see how they feel, maneuver and stand on a mooring. Would you buy a used car without a test drive?
