what to do

    I have a 1648 yahoo jon boat with a 21 in transom, and a 40 h.p. johnson short shaft motor..should I cut down the transom to fit the motor..dont think I can find a long shaft kit for the motor.

    Build a motormount and bolt it on. Is the motor a tiller or remote?

    You may have to extend the tiller so as to keep your weight more forward, but that should be fairly easy.

    you could buy a jack plate. cutting the transom might destoy the integrety of the boat.
