PS - Also, the chain plate "timbers" are sandwhiched ply. They are definitely "add ons" or reinforcements of what originally existed. The last owner told me that he had done some changes on the rigging, etc. I believe one of them is at least partially visible in one of my ring photos - perhaps the one with the open hatch? Will check.

I'll draw a sketch in a couple days and show my beam extension idea, very easy to do. The idea of the stock beams going to the outboard side of the amas is so the outboard chainplate loads go right into the beams taking a load off the ama side and ring frames. Stronger with less potential for flexing.

I asked about the beam over all because if you are around 22 feet the beams were probably made to stock length or some of the stock beams were used in the box beam build up. Adding up the distance the beams are from the amas edge gives us the extra width you seem to have.

It would be good to know, probably after the beams were made they decided to go after a bit more width to take advantage of the box beam strength.

Nothing that should keep you from sailing, just keep an eye on things while you incorporate upgrades and reef when you should.
