What model hull is this?

Hi all,

I’ve recently acquired a fibreglass boat off my old man. Just trying to work out the make/model of the hull? Im assuming it’s an early-to-mid 1970’s model as the 40hp evinrude that was on it appears to be from ‘75

Everything I’m coming across loosely points to it being a pride? Except I can’t find anything with this old school wing style towards the transom?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

That is a real oldie, anywhere from the late fifties to the mid-sixties at verylatest. If it was a Pride boat, it certainly doesn't bear any resemblance to later ones. Where are you getting the Pride idea from ? The seat cushions ? Could have come from another boat. There are vintage glass boat websites that deal with Australian built early ones, can't remember the name, could be a job for Google. Oh, and is all that pipework compliant ? I've seen less pipes at an oil refinery !

Hahaha I can’t speak about the pipe works! That’s an old weatherboard house built on our property years ago!

it’s registered as a pride and that’s what my old boy seems to think it is, I’m more just throwing out things that I could see where they were slightly similar? The seats I’m assuming come from another model and the ‘73 evinrude 40 that was on it I daresay wasn’t original. There’s no identification marks anywhere on the boat that I can see. I’ve got a photo of the outboard well if that might help, it’s been cut out here obviously.

It could be a Pride, that name later became part of the Bertram/Caribbean conglomerate. But it is a very early model, if so. It is possible someone on this forum might be able to fill in the blanks:

That boat is a testament to the durability of GRP, it is 60 years old, I would say. The lack of strakes, the transom deadrise negligible, tells me it pre-dates the 60's, but do tell us if you find the definitive answers, on that website I mentioned.

I tried to create an account but it failed a few times and figured the website wasn’t very active?

I don't know much about it, but I recall it was referenced by someone in relation to old local glass boats, I could not immediately remember the name of it, probably because the name gives no hint of what it is about.

This is in fact my boat.

I posted this on another forum now closed. Since that picture was taken, I have now converted it to a half cab. This can be seen by the reg. NO. WP466Q

It took some work but it was a transformation I wanted to do and revive a passion for half cabs. This is a solid boat and now performs far better now than when it was an open runnabout.
