What the heck is this thing?

    0E4CC0FB-DD0E-4FAF-B622-AA76C1BA2454.jpeg what is this stuff? Previous house owner was into sailing. found it in the shed attic. About 75lbs and has a wooden handle with serrated edge on one side Can anyone tell me what it is? Thx!

    My guess would be a daggerboard.

    The notches lock the daggerboard at various depths.

    what about the other piece? maybe fixed keel that goes astern of daggerboard to stay clear when grounding? still seems like odd shape.
    Maybe it was an add-on when the daggerboard was found lacking or was cut off the daggerboard for some reason, like to balance board/sail positions.

    That is the centerboard to a Snipe. The old shape had a curved front. It was cut and modified to comply with the new racing rules.
