    All completely wrong, but go ahead...........its your thread.

    And I doubt that is a altimeter from a sub! It looks very much like a old one common on Piper Cubs and Cessna 172´s.

    Diesel submarines have altimeters installed on them to monitor vacuum being pulled in the event the snorkel closes while the diesels are running consequently sucking the air out of the boat.

    They have a New Fangled type of Gage called a Barometer to measure pressure in Submarines

    But My favourite is the Sling Phycrometer. Weeeeeee!

    lets you see the Dew Point before it pricks you.

    Thanks for the pin vice tip. I'll look into that.
    You mean lie a wire pin vice?

    The last one is not a wire bender, it's old and was probably used in boats 1200 years ago.
