What Internal Corrosion Looks Like on a Suzuki Powerhead

    was tilted after each use on a moored boat
    had the occasional flush, looked worse than a 50 year old OMC
    ( 50 year old Merc already gone)

    has to as its a car engine and wont drain when stopped.

    Maybe Mercury does have the best alloy !

    I wonder if ceramic for engine blocks (as used in some gear boxes) or modern plastics would find favor
    with customers, it should be pretty stable in most environments.

    I think thats a great idea Tom
    Plastic would be perfect for outboards if it could be stiff enough.
    Problem is all the technology lately has been developing magnesium based car blocks that dont corrode and compacted iron/graphite
