:( Very sad, but I have one dog left. American mongrel terrier mix.:) She is 13 years old so I hope she lasts a while longer. King was 11 but his arthritis was too painful for him. At least he is not in pain any longer.:(

    Around The Island 2010

Well our "Around The Island" yot race is supposed to be one of the biggest inland fresh water events around the world.
Usually at around 400 entries I dont know if it is the biggest but certainly the highest at 1500 meters above the salt ;)

So THIS YEAR we were prepared
we is gonna win this flippen thing

    6 mono's
    2 cats
    1 motor cat
1 truckload of alcohol - all sorts
1 truckload of food - everything under the sun
    couple of ladies

    dang we is gud hey
too flippen great here at the arse end of the darkest continent

    oh fu3k

    somebody forgot the wind

    no wind
    a cry goes out
find the ******* - keel haul him - hang him from the halyards

So anyway - when i sez to the missus i am going racing again - she gave me a hug and a squeeze and a kiss, and told me to enjoy myself. She was looking forward to meeting her sister for lunch and shopping and girly things.

So there I sit, surrounded by any boat i wish to sail, the sun burning thru everything, no farkin wind. The race gets called off at noon.

I dont feel so good today, kinda liverish, very thirsty, vision blurred, whats a man to do

    I know
NEVER gonna drink again, never ever ever :p

    until April
gonna do the Cape of Storms
    65 ft - steel - Ingrid
    Gus 'n me
    whooooo hoooo
    here we go again :D

at least there is something exiting happening in seffrika

    Monster of a weekend.

Saturday swam 5,000m in the morning, watched Liverpool beat Everton on tv then England beat Wales at rugby, followed by a BBQ until late, sunday gym session then another BBQ from lunch til late.

Fell into bed and snored the roof off!

Started a little skiff of my own design...simply because I feel the need to play with some epoxy and I gotta build something. It's too cold in the garage and I can get this up and down the basement stairs. Drilling on the living room carpet is tricky... the yarn gets wrapped up on the bit :p

I have to confess Manie; I'm guilty with my accomplice, Jonas - the local witchdoctor. :D :D

That's for leaving me and "Fish Tales" out of the fun :(

A teenage boy had just passed his driving test and inquired of his father as to when they could discuss his use of the car.

His father said he'd make a deal with his son: 'You bring your grades up from a C to a B average, study your Bible a little, and get your hair cut. Then we'll talk about the car.'

The boy thought about that for a moment, decided he'd settle for the offer, and they agreed on it.

After about six weeks his father said, 'Son, you've brought your grades up and I've observed that you have been studying your Bible, but I'm disappointed you haven't had your hair cut.

The boy said, 'You know, Dad, I've been thinking about that, and I've noticed in my studies of the Bible that Samson had long hair, John the Baptist had long hair, Moses had long hair....and there's even strong evidence that Jesus had long hair.'

To this his father replied, 'Did you also notice they all walked everywhere they went?'

There is no wrong thread for a joke; not even a funeral thread, if the joke is appropriate for the deceased.8)
