Fanie this is the CAT that Sunsail had on display at the boat show. It was on the far side opposite to the escalators that go to the upper level where all the diving gear was displayed. Dont worry if you missed it, just another overpriced boat, built as light as possible. My old dinghy had the same size rigging as this cat = 5mm cable. **** when you climb aboard these modern boats you are always petrified that you may break something - everything is as LIGHT = FLIMSY as possible and then over ZAR 700k = US$ 100k - sorry i am old, not senile ;)

    Hi Manie,

Some of these boats may look thin and flimsy, but they are not. I recently had a thin piece of carbon fibre in my hand. You can bend it, but break I wasn't too sure. I like these fancy new materials... just cannot afford them at 3 x the price tag.

I wnet floating about in my Supacat and pondered how to make a flat bottomed bath with six wheels sticking out the bottom go faster on water.

    Can anyone work out how?

    PARADISE

What a feeling when there is actually something standing in 3D that is a step in the right direction.

This is my "jig" or buildframe for my CAT hulls.
    The inspiration came from
    http://www.thecoastalpassage.com/bblog2.html

I will open a new thread next week when the ply is laying in the frames

The excitement is on super high now as the build is actually in full swing now

Manie I think the super high comes from those plastic bottles used as "weights" I think they are full of Doringdraad witblitz.:p Well done I also had a good weekend on the boat. I have managed to cut all my hull planks and sisters for the broken ribs:) . All I have to do now is figure out how to get all the splinters out of hands and feet and head and and and:D

You could mount the mast on a big hoop with the center board
on the other side and let the boat rotate inside the hoop!
