    If it's on a boat I may consider :D

Why don't you answer you bloody phone ? Didn't pay the bill again eh. You said I must call you when I go there :(

Anyway, I'm more convinced than ever that the boat I'm building is the right thing to do.

    Hi ya all ya boogers

Fanie - i went to the boat show on Friday afternoon as i was passing by and thought what the hell, pop in - big mistake, should have carried on driving bloody home.

Anyway the little book store on the upper level had some nice books so i bought "Weather for Dummies" and "Yachtmaster" for my RYA certificate next year by Alison Noice. Very interesting, i get the impression that we follow the British rules, go figure hey?

The1 - there were some rather pretty lassies sitting on top of some overpriced aluminium cat "raft" next to the escalator. So i couldn't stare = perv tooooo much but it was fun when you walk around the stupid boat you can see the girls from the "underside" and when you go on the escalator you can see the girls from the "topside" maybe they planned it that way:D :D :D

These inland boat shows are a frikken joke.
As a mechanically minded person i marvell at technology, 300 hp outboards, counter rotating dual props, and workmanship that is tops. One teeny weeny problem - the cost of fuel. Although Fanie and i live in the so called "City of Gold" i must remind you that we have only TWO dams and ONE river where all the "posers" can go with their American monster boats and Harleys. It is and absolute joke to sit and watch these people, when i lived at "Harties" (one of our locals ponds = lakes) i would ride my bicycle to the local "meeting area" to have a beer and see the show. Fu3k me, I have never seen a good looking woman on a Harley, long blond straw hair, plastic over size ****, enough make-up to paint a boat, all squeezed into "Harley leather pants" yuk yuk yuk

So this was the kind of "scene" at the boat show. So if any of you happened to pass by on Friday afternoon, i was the old fart having a beer at the bottom entrance paging his new books.

I crawled around the only CAT that was there - nice boat - brought in by Sun Sail - open deck daysailer - demountable to trailer? but **** over 700 grand?????

One thing i can say to all inland "boaters" in Saffa, start reading, boating is meant to be fun, sail a second hand "Laser / Hobie" or similar - learn to sail. Motor with 5 hp. Get to the water.

If you are going to dream about joining the 300 hp "speed boat" crowd with their "Harleys" remember this - PLASTIC **** yuk yuk yuk. And those chicks are so thin that when you stick it in you could break her bones. NO NO NO

Anyway my progess is slow on my build, it frustrates the hell out of me - because flipppen work is getting in the way again, maybe i win the lotto tomorrow:D :D :D

So one more glass of wine tonite, off to bed, TOMORROW = SUNDAY i build boat, thats that:p :p :p

Wynand where are the pictures buddy - you must post pictures:D :D :D :D

Manie, I also stopped at the book shop.

So there you have it gents, from the horse's mouth :D

I missed the plastic ****... so you recon I didn't miss much :D

Your young lassies looks like jail bait to me. Blimey, I thought lassie was a dog.

There was one powerboat I saw I liked a bit more than most, it had a displacement hull.

I saw a 350Hp outboard there... humongous monstrocity. The defenition of an outboard motor is it is a portable motor. I lick anyone's but on the OK's switch counter if you can carry that motor.

The day sailor cat wasn't there... or I missed it :(

"Honey does!" That's all I do anymore!

"Fix the doors, mow the lawn, move the outhouse!"

Is there no end to this?

Went shopping yesterday and found a bargain boat trailer
and brought it home! Now I need a boat!

Two more doors and a bit of yard work and the boat is
    NEXT!

What have you done this weekend...?

    Brushed out the back yard in prep for levelling it off (build retaining wall, install culvert & fill). Need the space to put up the boatbuilding shelter. This is one of the last few "honeydo's" that have to be accomplished before we can start building our trawler. Remaining on the list are;
    1. pave driveway
    2. hardwood or laminate floor in living room
    3. scrape popcorn off bedroom ceiling and repaint
    4. patch some drywall in kitchen and prep for paint
    5. finish front porch (railings & carpet)
    6. finish zip in windows & screens for boat
    7. sell old boat
    So far this year I've accomplished the following honeydo's (somehow it seems I've done a lot more just can't think of what I missed);
    1. put steel roof on house
    2. new fridge & stove & dryer
    Then the fun begins!
