Manie, I must earn a living somehow and that's where the mine come in handy
Since you asked; My day starts 04h30 and start to work 06h00 till about 14h15, then straight off to the boat where I stick around till 18h00 if all is well, otherwise till about 19h00. Then home for a nice dinner and start on my emails, you guys etc.
Then off to the drawing board till about 22h00 when my day ends...

Nice boat yours and believe it or not, on my drawing board is the lines of a little 19 footer trailer sailor with the same type of interior you having. This boat will be build of GRP which is already in stock.

The Dix 43 interior; my client is a practical person and do not want a marina queen. Hence, the interior will be practical - light (white) painted plywood with wood trimmings, non skid carpets and plenty of handholds
We plan to have her finished at November and the rigging will be done by the mast maker on launch day.
As I write these ramblings, about 2000kg lead is already poured into the keel and all 4000kgs should be in place tomorrow.

Hi guys, nice to see that BD.net had an interesting week, i see that welding has always had the potential for "interesting" writings, he he origami et al.

I got to sail this weekend and man was it fun, the weather Saturday was beautifull at the vaaldam. Gus got this new toy "Solution" a 28 ft keel boat built in England, this is the most fun you could ever have with your clothes on, it flies, i dont think there are many keel boats that can deliver that kind of speed, awsum. Unfortunately my camera batteries died so i will post many more pics next month, hopefully i could be crewing on "Solution" on the next around the island race Feb 2009 - the old fart team

I have now finally got my garage clear to start assembly of my MiniCAT5, i delivered the "Chugger" to its new and very proud owner, they will now finish it off, windows and paint and what have you.

We all "helped" to get "My Way" back in the water, just my nerves cant take it, i have seen chain blocks fail on the mine, so yes i was there , and shitting myself. At least you can see a bit of the dam and the beautifull weather in the background.

The really great news is that the next big CAT which is the sister ship to Jims boat at Penant Nine will be on the water in TWO MONTHS time. This is the boat jointly owned by Ken and Milton. The boat will be going to the Seychells next year, so at least i will have unbelievable opportunity to sail her here, i already cant sleep, like a kid weeks before christmas.

Aneeeewaaaaay i was thinking of all you guys and i hope that you get a little inspiration from all of this, i have realized that there is fu3kall that i can do about the economy, politics, religion and bikinis on the beaches of OZ

I spent this weekend doing research on headphone amplifiers. Saved up ages to buy a good one, and there are so many out there to choose from.

Fanie no problem when i have got my own boat on the water, you are definately invited to come and sail on my miniCAT5

I am hell bent on having the boat on the water by December, i am not too worried about building the basic hull and deck, and trailer. I have had enough practice and experience with ply and epoxy. So i am confident that i should at least be able to go around on the water with my litte 5 hp merc outboard.

I am hoping to have the rigging done in time for the around the island race in February, but that could be a big maybe. This will be unknown teritory as a traditional Gaff rig with galvanised mast and stays is very very unusual.

Dont worry all the guys at the dam also think i am daft, but they like having me to crew, after all the ******** of the old farts, this old fart at least knows his left from his right.
Good laugh yesterday when the skipper shouted "scandalise the main" the young crew went blank he he

I was at the boat show in the dome. It was exactly as Manie said it was going to be - friggin' boring and there was just a few small sailboats. The rest was just power boats. I cannot think of any one single thing that was a bit above the rest. Best was probably Blokarts land sailers.

I am disappointed
