Yep. We know less than we think we do. A lot of factors influence climate and weather, and Man does not control the wind patterns over the Arctic.

As the ice cap extends it will deplete sea level leaving many marinas high and dry, necessitating dredging operations and possible blasting of sea floor to make navigable depth. Necessity is the mother of invention and the sound of opportunity knocking. What happened with de-glaciation can un-happen.

Lets get real the local weather forecasters with all their modern tools still have trouble forcasting whats going to happen tomarrow in my area. I can go down to my boat expecting 5-10K by forcast and find 30k wind. So who wants to start considering the boating situation 100+years from now even if you could live that long it seems like a bridge we should consider crossing if and when we get their and if that bridge really exists .

As the water recedes the submerged land will probably be very mucky and soft as it re-appears above the tidal zone. Improved technology and new methods may be needed to traverse this area to get to navigable waterways. Will amphibs be capable of crossing this undeveloped new land or will the huge lack of resources in the form of roads and bridges leave us landlocked for the time being as our economy founders on the coast of America?

Dredging new channels may provide some relief but it could be on the scale of digging the Panama Canal at multiple locations to maintain usability of existing port structures.

I'm sure this has been said many times over, and on this very thread. But short-term weather predictions have little or nothing to do with long range climate change.

No one has ever come up with a way to accurately predict whether a penny will come up heads or tails each time it's flipped. That hardly means statisticians are full of it, when they predict that if you flip it 1000 times it will come up heads almost exactly 500 times....
