The reason I 'brought him up' is because people are regurgitating things Beck has said like they're gospel truth. Since they aren't identifying the source of the bullshirt they're spouting, I did it for them. And by the way: if you think I'm 'the farthest left camp,' you are out of touch.:p:p

My main objection to Beck (along with other pundits) is that he never lets the truth get in the way of a good rant. And there's a difference between 'opposing viewpoints' and truth opposing fiction.

For example, Beck's claim that auto workers make three or four times what they actually make isn't simply an 'opposing viewpoint'; it's untrue. So was his statement that no one will see any benefits from Obamacare until 2014. So are a lot of the other things he says.

It doesn't really matter whether he's deliberately lying, or simply has a reckless disregard for the truth. Either way, it marks him as contemptible in my eyes. And it also shows his contempt for his audience -- since he knows they'll swallow anything he says, he doesn't need fact checkers.

    Okay, We'll see.
Frosty, that's what I've tried to do but it's fallen on deaf ears. I might need to rethink my strategy.

You click on 'post feedback' above a post on the right, and choose whether you approve or disapprove of it. You can also leave a short msg; I believe its mandatory if you disapprove. And you sign any negative msgs, if you're a gentleman.

A positive comment adds points to a member's reputation, and a negative one subtracts them. How many points depends on how long you've been a member, and how many posts you've made.

Reputation points don't really mean squat, unless you get down into the negative numbers. I think there's a point beyond which you aren't allowed to post except in your own threads.

If you click on 'FAQ' at the top left of the page, the very last entry is an explanation of the system.

So, any future-tellers here? No conjecture about dealing with the coming ice-age no matter what the cause?
