Sorry for the newbie question, but this term is not on wikipeida :p

What does "tabbing" mean, in the context of connecting stringers, floors etc, to the hull?

Anyone know where I can find a description of how to "tab" ?

It's a British Army term for forced marching with a large rucksack on your back! But maybe not in this case?

It is attaching your reinforcement to the grp hull with strips of resin-impregnated fiberglass. You place strips 4 to 6" wide and several feet long partly on the reinforcer and partly on the hull. You overlap these strips over each other by at least 2", so as to provide continuous attachment to the hull.

+45 -45 is said to be better than woven roving/mat for tabbing, by Dave Gerr in his book on boat strength. You should buy Dave's book, which is very usable by the non-technical.
