    Hi,

I’m building a single outboard pod and swim platform. Will be laid up separately and then bonded together.

My plan for the layup of the pod is

    Gel
    300csm
    Cure
    2x450csm
1st layer of ply (where ob bolts on)
    Cure
    1x600 woven roven & 1x450csm
2nd layer of ply (where ob bolts on)
    Cure
    1x600 woven roven & 1x450csm
Final layer of ply (where ob bolts on)
    Cure
    2x45o csm
    Cure
    Flowcoat

For the swim platform I’m planning

    gel
    1x450csm
    Cure
    1x450csm
    1x600 woven roving
    Cure
    2x450csm
    Cure
    Flowcoat

My question really is will I need any core material in the swim platform?

I’ve suggested the layups above as that’s materials I’ve got here at the minute. Do they look suitable?

    thanks

With that information, it's not possible to know if you need to install a core. What I can tell you is that I would place the CSMs close to the neutral axis, and if you need RWs, place them far from the neutral axis. Where you've placed them, they lose a lot of effectiveness.

    Gonna be pretty flimsy.

Why are you putting glass between plywood layers on the transom?
