What compels you to build your own boat? Student looking for help

    Actually...I like to design boats. I am not an NA or an engineer but simply an amateur with a pretty good library. I build boats to test my designs. So far I have only done simple boats but I have embarked on a couple more complicated (and expensive) builds recently which should take up the next 2 or 3 years.
