    Doesn't matter, the ratio's are dimensionless

    L = 10m = 32.8 ft
    B = 3m = 9.84 ft
    T = 1m = 3.28 ft
    Cb = .54

    WSA = 10*(1.7*1+3*.54) = 33.2 m^2 = 33.2*(3.28)^2 = 357.17888 ft^2
    WSA = 32.8(1.7*3.28+9.84*.54) = 357.17888

    More important is to know the range of L/B, B/T, and Cb it is good for. It is not good for boats or bulkers.

    Steve,

    Here is something that might interest you. I made a compilation of the WSA and its application to ship type sometime ago. I haven't completed the ship types as I need to open several books for reference so it is not complete yet. This is only a snipet of the large spreadsheet for Preliminary Design so some cells are not reading correctly.
