    Hi guys
Does anybody have to hand the approximate weight of plywood? I’m looking for 6 and 9 mil either per square meter/foot or standard 8 X 4 sheet.
    Thanks in anticipation
    Take care!

    Trev,
6mm usually 2 - 2.4 kg/sq mtr depending on type. 9mm half as much again. www.marineply.com has lots of info.
    Cheers

Species is quite important, which did you have a question for? An example would be two BS 1088 sheets, one of Okoume, the other of Mercanti which will be 20% heavier. It may not seem like much, but could be substantial for calculations in small craft design or the hull shell weight. In other words, a stitch and glue design displacing 2,000 pounds could be 2,400 pounds if you're not careful. In small craft, excess weight is a performance killer.

One 6mm Okume I had was 2.8kg/m2, another 9mm spruce core with oukume outside was 4.7kg/m2.
