Use of Soric in Infusion

We are about to infuse a cap in a new mold for a 20ft skiff. The cap is completely flat except for the hatches, which have recessed gutters. The cap will be cored with 3/4" perforated divinycell throughout, except in the gutters so the core will be tapered with a 45 degree bevel around the perimeter of the hatch gutter and the hatch gutter will be solid laminate.

We're using the green, silicone coated peel-ply and green flow media in the infusion stack and have infused other molds succesfully but these molds didn't have hatches. I've found that the flow media is kind of a pain to remove from transition or recessed areas after curing and it's also hard to position well in recessed areas of tight curvature. I'm wondering if we can use a soric core in the hatch gutters and skip the flow media. The strategy would be to use a very thin soric (2mm or 3mm) in the hatch gutter and then stop the soric at the "toe" of the divinycell bevel and start the green flow media where the soric stops. We're infusing with a pro-set epoxy infusion resin. Will the resin flow well across the soric/green flow media transition? Below is screen shot from rhino of the cap layout.

 

I tend to prefer continuous filament, but Soric would work ok.

for difficult transitions, we tend to fill them with some putty after skinout to soften the curves a bit.
