Does the calculation of weather criteria is mandatory for coastal pilot vessels of 13 metres in length?

The most sensible thing would be to ask the maritime administration of your country. In any case, it is not complicated or laborious to check this criterion when the different loading conditions have already been studied. It is about drawing a curve on the existing ones of the GZ values.

Thanks, i'll try to ask maritime administration, because the vessel dont comply with weather criterion.

That is a serious problem. The immediate solution is to add ballast to the keel. Perhaps, I cannot say at this time, ISO 12217-1 is easier to comply with. Could we know more about that project?

The maritime authority said that we have to comply with the rules, IMO rule in 2008 IS CODE states in its introduction in the purpose (1 Purpose) : "1.2 Unless otherwise stated, this Code contains intact stability criteria applicable to ships and other marine vehicles of 24 m in length and above". The 2 pilot boats are in GRP, Ballasts will impact the power of engines / speed required by the owner.

I see. Well, if things are that rigid, I only see two solutions: the boat will go slower or it won't go at all.
Balance keels can help reduce roll amplitude.

What does the specification of the vessel state?
That will tell you the duty and hence role, and therefore which rules are required for the vessel to comply with.
