We have read and serviced the current style of super complex , expensive and power hungry water distilling machines.

The reverse osmosis does give nice water , but when NOT being used it requires a huge input of labor.

Not old enough to remember the previous style systems that were simpler and ran off the heat of the exhaust.

Westerbeek sold them in the 60's .

If anyone was shipmate with similar gear for a 30 -60 ft cruising boat , please share your experience.

Did they produce enough fresh water to be worth while?

    Were they maint. free??
