walking on melamine rather than paint?

    walking on melamine rather than paint over FRP?

    has anyone used melamine facing board, abt. 3mm thick, as a facing/structural material over structural foam to replace the topside fiberglass layer for floor panels?
    Too heavy or too expensive?
