Hello everyone. My name is Bill, I am new to the site. I am looking for information concerning a possible repower. I own a 1973 Rienel pleasure V-hull that was originally powered by a Volvo Penta AQ130/Aquamatic 170 sterndrive. Well the engine has given up after many repairs and nursings... the cylinders are score and cam has started to go flat.

I have found a Mercruiser 2.5 ltr (Iron Duke) that runs and is complete for $200. Has anyone done this and/or is it a feasible match to attach the Mercruiser engine to the Volvo drive? I just spent a bunch last year on the drive and would like to keep it...

Any help here would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for reading.

    Bill
