My last design 11.9m 12tons boat run up to 37knots with Twin IPS500........
my forecast speed is only 32knots.....
the volvo guys Really surprised me~

Just wait - your forecasts won't really surprise you, until you hit some floatsom! You will be rocking that boat – literally – all the way to the shore!

By then you will be pretty pissed, that you put that sticker on the back:

"Don't come a'knockin when the boat's a'rockin'"

;-)

Seriously, though, that's quite a difference between the two.

I'm assuming you are talking about hitting something and that would be bad. Do you have any first hand experience with IPS and striking something ? Please Expand.

No, no, I haven't any experience with IPS. I do have experience with murphy's law, though: What can go wrong, will go wrong.

Hitting anything with a prop is bad.

The grounding part, was a halfassed joke, but I can't help but think, what will be done to protect the props? Weed, rope, a piece of wood, a grounding and so forth? Personally, I am very wary about things like this, because it introduces a source of problems in order to gain speed (and economi, as it were).
