void space floatation

    Here is my dilemma i am building an amphibious vehicle, and want to know if wheel well areas( only open at bottom, like an inverted cup) will provide some rotation ? i assume air trapped inside compresses a little ,but this area would still provide a flotation value? see one half rear section of a wheel well in photo. this box shaped well is only open at bottom to water. so air is trapped when in water at draft.

    Trapped air spaces tend to lose that trapped air at the most inconvenient times, so while it will add buoyancy, I wouldn't rely on it.
