Vetus electronic engine remote controll, and setting starbord engine do conter clockw

    My name is Bjorn,
    I have a problem with reading the manual for the vetus electronic engine remote controll.< I cannot find the instructions) my configuration is mechanical-mecanical.

    I have 2 Yanmar 440 hp dielsel engines and connected to twindisk's i am now trying to figure out what page in the manual i can find the way to set my starboard engine to rotate counterclowise< so when i push the starboard engine remote controll forwrd the shaft would actually go in reverse!
    My question is simply how is this done?
    Any help would be really great as i am in Malysia, and there is nobody here who has a clue!!
    Please help me get out of here!

    The arm in the transmission can have the cable hooked to the front or the back. It will change the forward and reverse.

    1,)what is the minimum time in sec, i have to be in idle before shifting the gear?
    2,) is the twindisk set to go clockwise default,( i am now facing stern)

    biut if you do as you say surely you will need to change one prop? you have two left handers, right?
    oh and you can not change the eng rotation:)) still we know what you mean
    shifting from ahead to astern you will know when, to soon it will sound wrong , modern engines decelerate fast so as soon as they are near idle sp, even tho shafts are still going fast, you can shift to astern

    I have the right props,One clockwise and one counter clockwise(had them specially made in taiwan) just the person that i originally hired to do the job where useless and i had to fire them on the spot! so i have to figure it out myself with help from nice people like your self,
    I understand that the engine can only go in one way ,what i mean is that the twin disc gear box, makes my prop, shaft go counter clokwise.
    I am quite new to all this so bare with me!

    oh well as someone said you swap the link, , as far as electronic control goes, I know 3/8 , x 5/10 of nothing, but good luck, have you some pics of your boat?

    We have done a total refit, and all quipment new!
    She is designed for charter in Phuket.
    I will keep you posted if you are interested.

    The blue line on the side of the hull will be painted sRiva silver
    I am now designming a hard top for the fly bridge, and have had a great deal of thought put into this as most yachts in the 50-80 feet traditionally have not thought of this unitll recent, simply to use a stanless stell pipe with some sunbrella does not cut it! and most design of these look like a built on tent from the 70s.

    This is the most fun project i have ever worked with!

    There are many specialist companies in Phuket Boat Lagoon can do this work. Malaysia may not be as good but its not that bad.

    You have posted 2 boats,-- the background of either of them are not Phuket or Malaysia.

    Twin discs rotate either way,-they call it rotation A or B.

    B is reverse to you and me and is a slightly different ratio, synchronizing your engines will not be possible unless you alter a prop but its not a big problem.

    Vetus cables from the linear motors can be front or back as Gonzo said.The manual suggests that the linear motors themselves can also be revered.

    So--where are you now exactly?

    Dear frosty,
    The pictures you can see are taken in goteborg, before shipping to port klang, where we are now!
    I myself live in phuket, but as for port klang there are not many poeple here that can be dealt with as proven by constact delays and lies.
    I think that the information I have gotten should be sufficiant for us to complete this.
    I have eric, at vetus service department willing to walk me trough the programming tomorrow!
    If for some reason this does not work, I may just go slow by one engine to phuket! Just to get out this place, john the manager at the rsyc is also very helpful

    Ah--Port Klang!! Now I understand.

    Well if you really want to get out of there once you get into the North channel you can manually select forward on the gearbox your having trouble with, then you can run on 2. You should be able to make Pinang in a daylight day, with the Marina north east of the island.

    Langkawi is just 69 miles North of that.

    You dont need to go to Phuket,-- Langkawi will be able to get you running im sure.
