''small'' diesel for 20' scow

    looking for a small diesel to push a 20' heavy built scow 7 knots ???
    names of distributers ? preferances ? horsepower ???

    Decide on the weight of the scow fully loaded in LB.

    Divide by 2240 and you will have the weight in tons.

    Multiply tons by 5 and you will have the max HP the unit will need.

    For a 20 ft anything to go 7K may take 10 times as much power. 5K is way CHEAPER

    Dont know...But Kubota make very nice small diesels .
