Crude speed estimate in knots = 3 to 4 x (HP per ton) ^ 0.5
If you boat weighs one ton (total) and you have 25HP you can estimate speeds like 3x5 = 15 knots to 4x5 = 20 knots.

    Unseen...

Sorry, I'm not an naval architect/engineer.

But front the link to the 20' PT built by Jim Treleaven...

"...it has a 5 foot beam and is powered by a 35 hp Jet Ski engine."

At 20%, you are talking about a 16 foot hull... I'd think you could stuff a "jetski" plant into that length.

Build light; cold molded plywood and epoxy!

I know this thread is almost 3 years old, but I think this is the sort of boat he was asking about. Does anyone know of any plans for something like this that you might be able to put a car or truck on? Sam
