I have twin engines with the inline vernatone mufflers.
Starboard side is much noisier than port side.
I also notice starboard engine when rev up has more reverberance sounding in the cabin than the port engine.

Is there a way to examine them and see if they are internally broken?
If one is broken, how would you cut them open to repair?
They do not leak at all, can the baffles inside fail?

Is there an in and an out direction? (actually might be an arrow on the decal)
Is there an up or down direction? (there is a drain)
Can they freeze and break? (I have never taken out the drain plug.)
I just don't remember the details of mine.
I thought about switching side to side.

These are either the 4" or 5" inline mufflers. And I will get the measurements.

Check your raw water pump on the loud side.
