    Variable Deadrise or Modified V?

    Hello

Is any one able to explain the difference in design of a Modified V hull compared to a Variable Deadrise V hull, or are they one in the same?
    What defines these designs?

Also is there a difference between a Semi Planing hull and a Semi Displacement? What defines these designs?
    Please explain these differences.

    Thank you. PD

  2. Thanks to a lack of continuing formal courses in all of lifes schools of higher education there are plenty of creative titles for any subject or object. The Vs are used interchangeably. On the displacement. There are really only 2. full planing and not full planing, or a displacement. SEMIS exist because of PR sales people. No boat is ever designed as a semi-displacement. More or less people or more or less HP, could make the boat into either one, makes the boat company a bunch of idiots.
