Are you referring to our Scoff-law in Chief, the one who ignores court rulings?

That's like saying, The Duryea brothers' contraption was the predecessor of the automobile. But it most certainly wasn't the automobile as we know it today -- the creation of today's automobile was most definitely still an ongoing process.....

Wait. That sounds kind of right. Hmmm.

In 1972, when R.M. Nixon won re-election, the media was astounded. Did man-on-the-street interviews to attempt an explanation.
They would ask citizens that confessed to voting for Nixon,"Would you buy a used car from Pres. Nixon?" "No"
"So why not voted for McGovern?" (Nixon's lost in obscurity democrat opponent for president)
answer. "Because McGovern is stupid enough, he WOULD buy a used car from Nixon!"

In 1960, Nixon ran extremely close election against Kennedy but lost. It was provable that Mayor Dailey of Chicago had dead people voting for Kennedy. Nixon's advsors told him, "We can get those illegal votes thrown out and YOU win!"
Nixon said it wouldn't be right to challenge a national election.

Now, nobody will accuse Richard Nixon of being a classy guy! But Al Gore and his manager Rick Perry, who DID challenge the election in Florida?
Woooh! Less class than Nixon? Woooh!

It seems the same things that happen here happen there - only here it is done on the extreme.

The restrictive firearm act as well as the freedom of speech issues more or less correspond here and there.

The problem with these restrictions is it is never for the intended purpose - to prevent harmfull stuff - instead it is the general guy out there that gets knocked.

If you stand back from it all you will see that everything is about control. Imagine the internet issue gets taken a step further, then some more and pretty soon you have no freedom of speech.

Same thing wrt firearms, once they take one caliber away, tomorrow the next and before you know it every one's disarmed. Someone wants to control you.

There are always 'good reasons' to impliment it, most can be proven logical falicies and other cripple good sounding ideas.

Here some cases was won against the illegal firearm act on the grounds of right to posess. Next the minister announces on tv that firearms are not property. Crap like that.

As long as someone is prepared to stand with you against these stupids, oppose it. And 4 5 c, please vote right this time round.

Aparently zuma is in NY on the moment with the UN - discussing your disarmament. How much will you charge to keep him there ?

Well. I know someone very well, who has weapons and ammo sealed in PVC tubes, painted camoflage, and secured by straps high in various trees, in various locales.
Just in case the government seizes weapons at home.
He had to look quite a bit to find trees that weren't already in use for other peoples arms!
    :D

    This might amuse you, Fanie.

There was a variety of anti-terrorist legislation passed in the UK a while ago.
People were assured that they shouldn't worry because the laws would only
    be used in "extreme" circumstances.

    Not long ago in Manchester...

A council used controversial anti-terror laws to spy on a crew of refuse
collectors after receiving a tip-off that they were incorrectly emptying a
    dustbin.

    Doesn't surprise me Leo.

I think the problem begins when individuals gets too much power over other people.

Perhaps politicians should become civil servants again, and instead of doing 'important thinking' on behalf of others from their own perspective, a panel of individuals that will not benefit financially, and who will from an interest in the subject decide what and how the civil servant wil execute his task.

the worst one in the uk was that blind polititian signed the one sided extradtiton treaty whereby a UK citizen can be shipped to the US without any due process.

Was needed for anti terrorism etc etc.
A couple of years down the road no terrorist shipped over but about 10 businessmen....
