The time has come to change the way textiles are manufactured. We all have experienced the challenge of searching for just the right fabric for our clients. Often, after much searching, we end up with a backorder or a discontinued fabric. Digital technology will change the landscape for textile production. Mass production will be replaced with mass customization. By utilizing digital technology, long searches, backorders, and discontinued fabrics can be eliminated. CS Fabrics is bringing these concepts to professionals everywhere. The process is as simple as S.P.A.: Select a fabric type, Pick a pattern and Assign colors. An interior designer can select the exact colors to match the project’s vision. This enables the designer to provide services that exceed the client’s desires. Fabric is always available and backorders do not exist. Current costs for this availability and flexibility could run $100s per yard. CS Fabrics’ digital capabilities significantly reduce these costs and production times. Production costs and timing differences between traditional screen printing and digital printing are significant. Traditional screen printing takes up to 6 weeks, requires a large minimum order and is very expensive. CS Fabrics’ S.P.A. process takes a week to 10 days. A proof can be produced and shipped within a day. Once the proof is approved, the fabric is printed On-Demand and shipped within a week. The S.P.A. process offers flexibility to all designers. Colors and design scale can be altered with minor revisions to bring the designer’s creative vision to life. The S.P.A. process is not limited to interior designers. It is also ideal for graphic artists, fashion designers, upholsterers, interior decorators, and professional quilters. CS Fabrics also offers a “Cut & Sew” service. During the printing process, CS Fabrics can print “cut & sew” lines directly onto the fabric. The need for paper patterns and all of the other pre-treatments necessary for sewing are eliminated. Chairs, couches or pillows can have a fresh, new look with relative ease. “Cut & Sew” is the same process used by large clothing manufacturers to save time and fabric. Since this is a standard industry practice, professional seamstresses are familiar with the techniques. Another enabling capability that CS Fabrics brings to the design world is mural printing. For example, graphic artists can have their artwork and designs printed in a billboard sequence and the mural can be erected on-site in less than a day. Restaurants and other commercial clients no longer need to close their doors or smell the intoxicating fumes of paint. The fabric can be post treated with chemicals for stain resistance or flame retardants. CS Fabrics enables design professionals to experiment with possibilities that have been traditionally limited. No longer are designs and colors controlled by mass production. Innovation, creativity, and choices in color, design, scale, or direction of prints are as limitless as a painter’s canvas.
