Adjustable bulges in catamaran hulls

    To maximise downwind speed I was pondering the idea of installing adjustable air inflated "pods" in the bow and stern sections of a catamaran, capable of inflation and deflation from the helm position , that would be kept in a shallow hull recess , using heavy duty steamlined rubber type bladders that follow the hull profile, and when inflated give both the bow and aft sections more bouyancy ,to reduce wetted surface and so increase speed.........please discuss
