We just purchased a 1978 Sea Ray 200. It has the 260 Mercruiser i/o in it. After taking it out this weekend I noticed some water. I pulled the exhaust pipes to reseal them and found rotten, saturated plywood. Now my questions. Is this safe to drive this season? and I've read the basics on transom replacement and think I can do it. Any helpful hints to help get the job done?
