would it be possible have a twin engine / single rudder configuration installed on a skeg motorboat /lobster boat?how would this affect steering?

I am doing this on a 37 ft sailboat. The con is there will be no prop wash assistance to the steering for maneuvering, but the pro is the rudder sees cleaner water...

With twin engines the rudder is only for trimming. You'll steer and maneuver with the throttles and shifters.

A single rudder behind the skeg in a twin screw boat is satisfactory if the rudder area is the sum of the normal twin rudders. You will get stream effect at the boat speed, instead of the higher advance flow speed escalated by the propeller helice.

The rudder type will follow the unbalance type. While the balanced rudders can be installed behind the propellers. So you will need a larger steering gear.
