Fhared Zakaria had a 'forteller' on his show saying Ahamadinnerjacket will begin to lose power. The Kohemenie will become a Mouthpiece with no following and the ARMY head (another weird name) will eventually be the Power of the Kingdom.

He thinks the ARMY guy will keep the development of wepeons grade NUKE but will not develop the wepeons. That is the Effect of Israel on the future of Iran.
Syria will become a liberal democracy w/dictator again.

This guy thinks the Middle east will actually come down off the "mob" rule in the very near future.
The Military guy in Iran and the Military guy in Egypt might be able to bring a lot of that Chaos to a peaceful end.
We need to see a lot more integrity in those leaders and a lot more patience in the Mob though.

    Good luck, Vulkyn!
Once again, politicians and the military are to seen acting in their own interests, and not acting for the people.

So ... couple of weeks after the escalations the voting has calmed things down so we are taking a break from all the violence ...

Looks like the country is heading towards so called religious parties.
I am a very moderate individual, i believe the best choices in life comes from the fact that we are open minded enough to take the best of each world.
I am totally against any single minded direction specially in politics (total liberal, complete religious, Communism etc.) so i was very disappointed from the political parties and their agenda's.
The only one that seemed to be sensible on paper are dysfunctional in reality.

Only part of the elections have been made but so far the biggest share is the muslim brotherhood 42%, followed by the Light 30% (another party that resembles Saudi's methodology) then the Egyptian cluster 15% (mostly liberals, economical and the Christian majority - this is the party i voted for, not my best choice but my only one).
So i am very worried now .... the elections are still ongoing and those where the first phase results .... not encouraging in any way ...

Greetings from the far end of the Earth, Vulkyn!

We are getting fairly depressing reports here too.
Most serious seems to be the collapse of the tourism industry which seems essential to the Egyptian economy. It doesn't appear to be recovering very quickly and probably won't until well after the last round of elections.

If religious parties win then the tourist numbers might stay down. Turkey seems like a much better holiday destination for Europeans at the moment.

    All the best,
    Leo.

Reserves have dropped from $37 Billion to $20.5 Billion ... so we are in trouble (it should not drop below $25 thats the red line).
Toursim is down, productivity is down, investment is down so the whole economy is going down ....
So unless rapid immediate action is taken we will face some very difficult times ahead stabilizing the decline then repairing and finally growing back ..

If this is not the absolute main focus of every party the next couple of month we are in serious trouble ....

We shall see ... thx for the kind words LEO :)

Yes, it would be difficult to move, but it might give women in your family (or extended family) greater opportunities than if the Salafists dictate policy. If they do have a great say in policy, you can kiss the tourist trade goodbye, and hence your economy is doomed: it will be worse than after the attacks in Luxor many years ago.

Maybe Australia would be to your liking.

As you will see, we are looking for all sorts of skilled migrants.

The good news about real elections, is that if a poor choice is made and thing heads in the wrong direction, there will be a chance that the people will wake up and decide to put someone else in power next time. When you serve at the whim of the people, the people can get fed up with poor performance pretty quick.

Much of the middle east is not used to democracy. However, if democracy really does take hold in a country, then those in power understand that in order to continue to be in power they must govern in a way that will get them elected again.

I know there are all kinds of ways to mess up a "democracy", but those that get elected now may not be smart enough to work the system and stay in power without deserving it.

The more moderate people should probably just try to start building a coherent constructive political voice to keep the government honest for now. Later, this may build a foundation for a party that can step in and take a bigger roll.

Definately not looking good--I predict it will go 100% scheite(spelling ?) law as the majority of the population believe strongly in their faith and they have every right to (freedom of religion) practise and promote that belief.(Majority rules) Not saying anyone is right or wrong here , it's just the way it is. No different than the religion of Rome and an't that some piece of work thruout history still going thru it's moderation pains. This agnostics advise leave for the good of your family.---Be Safe- Geo.

God bless the Egyptian Christians who will suffer and die at the hands of the Muslim Brotherhood.
