You must have some exotic requirements.

I find it hard to believe that most every configuration over the years has not been tried / done.

I would love to see what unique requirements you have.

Please post the written requirements & any sketch if possible.

    Thank you for your reply.
Maybe I'm overthinking this, but It looks like an expert will not hurt my case :)

I would rather work in a private manner as I don't want to publish my design.

    I'm assuming you are a N/A?

Is there a way to PM or email you?

My design involves small 14' x 4' deep-v 24 deg boat, with an outboard motor, 2 person capacity. Idea is to design a hull that would be comfortable and stable but also can handle "offshore" as much as possible, and design for that. For example maybe building a fuel tank in to a lowest point of the hull, narrow entry point etc.

Also I'm thinking of making it water tight as much as possible, so bow and stern sections watertight comparments and then a cockpit is the only open space.

    Along these lines.

Power is by 25-30 hp motor.

Lightweight, possibly carbon fiber to some % of hull and/or balsa core.

One of the issues I've got is why with deep-v hulls some designers go with just V and others create what could be described as small steps on the side of the hull. Please see image. Does that improve stability static or dynamic?

    Thank you

    Possibly ?

You really need to test drive EVERY companies demostration boat / boats, at a lot of dealers. It is boring work. BUUUTTT
If you are serious to be better then 99% of that sized boat. You MUST pick something that is ALREADY FANTASTIC. Then SLIGHTLY modify that best of the best hull shapes.
Cheaper / faster & far more successful with time & money being spent.
I am not a N A. I am a excellent improver of updating old machinery to become competitive.

That is your goal also now.

I did forget to tell you to use caution in your offshore testing of a 14' boat as much as possible. That is a VERY DANGEROUS testing area in a approaching storm.

You are NOT supposed to be building a high survival rate Life Boat. Are you ?

No it's not a survival life boat.

The idea is to make it handle 2-3' chop, and be as safe as possible without turning it in to a submarine, it still needs to be a fun boat.

    Still looking for a N/A..
