have a look on ROLLA PROPELLERS web site.
He is the most popular and famous piercing propellers manufacturer.

I am looking for reference material regarding methods for evaluating the vertical forces generated by a surface piercing propeller by various combinations of Pitch,Rake,Skew, blade and hub design. Is there any openly published material? Thanks.

So detailed open water tests, I don't have never see.

I think that one of the problems is that the thrust direction has the possibility to be modified.

I had a Dos program from Arneson that permit to calculate the resistance and the propulsion (optimization of prop. geometry) of high speed boats.

The name of the program was AMI.BOAT that permits to calculate D, P/D, n, Eta0... try asking Arneson..

Some material has been published from Rolla , ask directly using e-mail in web

    Yes, it is..
    Thank you...
Exiting is to give garantee for speed for military boats...
All designs btw. 40 and 50 knots...
Penalty if you reach 1/2 knot less and with 2 knots they refuse the boats!!!
This means that the shipyard is out...

    Exiting...yes !

With this program you have the possibility to calculate your curve of piercing screw r.p.m. plotting, once D, P/D, z choosen, using coeff KT/J^2.

You have the possibility to construct open water curves using this wonderful program....
