Do they have older production hulls? I thought they were selling plans for a build. I'm not against sailboats per se, but the keel is the issue. Either it's down and you take up more draft, or it's up and you get tossed a bit while trying to relax. If I were going to build from scratch, I think I'd go the mini trawler route. Thanks.

could an amphibious trailer-boat (where wheels swing out to become fenders) configuration make the overall size of "easily to trailer" increase?

If you are at a given max size/weight of boat+trailer, if you instead bolted the wheels and trailer tongue to the boat could that mean your boat could be bigger for same overall size?

Maybe a tri-pontoon with slightly extended big center pontoon to serve as trailer tongue and the wheels could fold up between or outside the pontoons. In between seems neater but outside seems more practical.

So over the years there have been several boats made with swing away wheels for trailering. Unfortunately they tend to compromise on everything. In order for the attached wheels to work they need a strong and heavy super structure, and the hull itself must be reinforced because it is no longer supported while traveling down the road. Once you do that thier is not much left for your capacity.
Another issue is this will be used in saltwater. My trailer gets rusty just sitting in the parking lot. I can't imagine if it were subject to constant contact or splashing.

The nimble is a pretty cool boat, but it's not exactly what I'm looking for. Especially the narrow transom, as it doesn't leave much room for mounting stuff like the generator. It's more set up for 1 or 2 to travel. A C-dory might be an option too, but again it's not what I'm looking for.

As far as the free boat goes. I can't stress this enough, never buy a boat without a title in Florida! It's a real headache to get it retitled legally.
Either way I'm not looking to buy immediately, I'm gathering info for now on the possibilities and hull differences between the production houseboats and the other hulls available.

kinda what I figured. maybe a trailerable houseboat with a trailer that can do some car-carrier and general cargo hauling, since a calm water houseboat will tend to be either flat boxy hull or pontoons.

The picture below is my latest design Myark folding trailer pontoon that are also used to place a tiny home or a mobile camper on deck turning the Mark into an amphibious houseboat.
I have made a documentary step by step manufacturing the Myark and its venture on a shoestring budget while living rough, at this stage I can only show the pontoons not folded because of the patent application been applied which is not far away.
I have towed the Myark picture in folded form and it travels on road extremely well with a car.
It will be road certified and marine surveyed for an 8-ton load on deck and weighs including build in trailer 2.3 ton allowing a family car to tow the Myark and can assemble in 15 minutes on land or water.

To have an example of an outdated 26 years ago prototype Myark as a trailer houseboat you can vison on a You Tube movie

these look fully road worthy but barely lake worthy. I'd like to see a low budget basic DIY minimalist version on a Harbor Freight 4x8 trailer or maybe 6x12.

I'd also like to a fully seaworthy but barely road worthy houseboat. Maybe self powered on land or maybe needing a tow, but at least able to get out of the water without needing a trailer and towtruck on standby.
