1944 14 foot wooden military sailboat restoration

    ILV2Fish Scoutmaster

    I am a scoutmaster who just had a 14' wooden sailboat donated to our Troop. The boat was built during world war II and used at a military base for R&R. I am going to work with our scouts to restore it and earn their sailing merit badge at the same time. From the picture can anybody tell me who made this boat? It has a solid wood mast if that helps and I have all the parts but the rudder.

    Don't know exactly but it looks a lot like a Snipe. Problem? a Snipe is 15' 6". See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Snipe_(dinghy) Snipes were very popular and have been built since the 1930's. Many were home built.
