Maybe, but it's the county Pacific City is in - The traditional center of Pacific Power Dories. They have an annual Dory Days celebration.

So how about fresh caught salmon from a dory launched through the surf instead of those curds.

Nice to see someone else building one of these boats. My boat is coming along slowly i'm not in any rush and it has been hot.I got some real southern yellow pine (Longleaf) the tree was cut down and air dried for several years before I bought it I had to have a friend help me cut and plane it but the wood is great. The ribs are all done and the keel and transom have been attached. The stem and chines are next I will post a pic this week!

My plan is to use the graphite powder mixed with epoxy on the bottom,Kirby or Interlux brightsides paint and some trim varnished. The decking I would like to have run port to starboard instead of stern to bow whish is called for in plans and have them be removable for cleanup as I have seen on some boat pics on the net So how well would Kirby paint hold up for a fishing boat or would the Brightsides be a better choice maybe Brightsides on the interior Kirby on hull or vise versa? Oh the choices!

So I really dropped the ball on this thread! I am not very tech savy or care to be but anyway here is an update 13 years later
This boat was really just a dream in the beginning Workin nights when I saw Jeff Spiras plans and thought you know what I think I can do this well it took 3 years of blood! Sweat! and a %$^&*ton of sanding! I learned how to use a block plane, bend wood with a big ol pvc pipe washer hose and a hot plate,epoxy/fiberglass,varnish, skarf and what a sheerclamp a chinelog was boat inspection etc etc etc... don't get a used motor from Craigslist not the best plan but once I got my 40hp 4stroke Tohatsu it has been so worth it I have so many hours with family and friends on my boat now great little fishin boat I highly recommend these boats and get compliments alot peace✌️ 20171226_122553.jpg 20180217_135544.jpg 20171231_115026.jpg 20180701_061856.jpg 20180508_094347.jpg 20180508_115502_029.jpg 20170918_140945.jpg 20180520_075911.jpg IMG_20171216_1437141.jpg 20180416_125424.jpg 20170124_100959.jpg IMG_20170609_1359031.jpg 20150919_113611.jpg
