The new outboard electric trolling motors, big thrust

Once you make claims of efficiency and performance, you can't hide behind business secrecy when somebody questions the accuracy of your data.

Sorry, I can only show the data which I authorized. Our engineer think the authorized data can show the efficiency and performance. I know some people may say it's your results.

Testing in boat should be more powerful than our words. I think we will do a promotion Activities in Middle of July for USA market.
We will provide 2PCS 160LB trolling motor for trial using only pay the express shipping cost in ebay.
We will post in this Forums. People in this Forums can apply it according to our indication. We will choose 2 people who is suitable to test the motor.

Some guy going around in a boat is not a scientific test. Also, if you have testing facilities where your engineer is getting the data, it makes absolutely no sense to have a random boater do a "test". You are obviously a salesman without technical knowledge. Why don't you get your engineer to post in here? That could provide some realistic data; or not.

Thank you for your advice. We will see whether any engineer or boat bulider will do the test, not random test.
We have Famous brand trolling motor company's lab testing report. Sorry that we cann't give it. They still do testing on boat this summer. :)
 
Sorry, Power=thrust*speed is wrong. The electric motor shaft output power=Torque(NM)*Speed(RPM)/9.549 . For propeller thurst, there is still some lost from motor shaft to propeller.

yes that is correct in the sense that thrust*speed is not the motors rated power but the final outcome net propulsive power after all losses.
The relation is still true that a setup being able to create high thrust at zero or low speeds is in no way guaranteed being able to provide high thrust at higher speeds. A propeller choice is essentially a gearbox.

He's going nuts over brushless motors, as if this is a new thing. It was invented in the early 1960's! External or non-physical commutation has been in widespread used for many decades. In the early 1980's this technology took off because of permanent magnet production, as previously the brushless motor was the weak knee, redheaded stepchild of the mechanical commutator motor. Every computer hard drive built, has a brushless motor in it, that's how common they are.

FWIW, of the current reviews of trolling motors, none of the several I've seen listed a Caroute motor for review, let alone testing. This is telling as fisherman have a huge market to service, so they test (industry suppliers, trade publications, etc.) and rate the crap out of all of the trolling motors being offered, yet not a single mention of the Caroute motor.

Curently the Minn kota and MotorGudie trolling motor, most are carbon brush type. For samller thrust, it's ok. Over 80Lb, there will be some quality problem. 80% USA maket‘s electric trolling motor are producting in China. And brushless electric motor bike can reach 80KM/Hour now. And our chief engineer had work with USA famous brand for more than 10 years. Why he can not design a large thurst trolling motor? We have our testing report and third parts'. But we only can show ourselves. But the graph is a liittle compliacted. Seldomly pepole can read it now. We may make some new graph later. Testing in boat is better than any testing report.
Why we maketing, we want to let more people know this good motor. We had given basspro to test the motor. But basspro told us their main business is trolling motor for fishing. Our large thurst motor’s nosiy is a little bigger, and price is much higher than low thrust motor. So they don't want to be the frist one to do the business. We can understand. So we think why we can consider to market for some bigger boat or smaller sailboat.

Looking at the available youtube videos for these motors it is clear they work and are pretty powerful. But the biggest issue seems to be some driver problems - they have a regular hiccup that seems to shake the whole boat.

Is any progress being made on this issue? Until this is solved these motors aren't worth trying for me.
