I am currently in the design of a 25 foot demountable coastal cruising catamaran. It has a beam of 12 feet O.C. or 14 feet total with roughly three feet of freeboard. I am invisioning composite boxbeams as croosbeams that insert into female boxbeams molded into the bottom of the decking that span the full width of the bulkheads, connected by lag bolts on both surfaces. I am having trouble finding info on the "normal" way of doing it and for calculating anticipated loads. If anyone has any info or suggestions I would greatly appreciate your input. I'd be happy to E-mail some basic line drawings or any more info.
