    I found it real tough to figure out how the first one worked.
    The Second one was much cleaner anyway. Nothing small left out in the Salt water to corrode.
    I'm for #2 of those choices.

    I like the idea of Hydraulic Controlled pitch for instant changes in a 'shifty' situation.
    I'd think it's the same as Mechanical pitch control once you get it into gear and underway.

    They show a nice looking prop. What does the phrase "when the boat is on release" mean? Gear in neutral?

    "Propellers with shaft-line servo can be used with any kind of gearbox. The servo is built around the propeller shaft. A hydraulic handpump actuates servo movement and pitch adjustment." So this propeller, if I understand it correctly, could offer the advantages of CPP and;
    1) Prop walk in both directions
    2) Counter rotating twin engines

    When boat is on the hard.. i.e. Propeller pitch can be adjusted when the boat is out of the water.

    ps That was about adjustable pitch propeller, not CPP..

    Thanks for getting that straight Teddy!

    Too often the CPP is still mixed up with a folding prop like "Gori", the senseless "Autoprop", or simply adjustable props, where the pitch can be fixed while the ship is drydocked.
    The Gori system is a valuable and proven reliable setup for passagemaking sailboats, to make that clear, but has nothing to do with powerboat propulsion.
    A adjustable prop makes sense in some very few commercial setups, no doubt.
    And a so named "Autoprop" is just a *****, or say marketing gag......

    I have been doing some research on CPP and other props. I will be mounting the props on a John Deere 4045T. Please post your personal experience with the Autoprop. I have done numerous searches looking for positive and negative reviews of the Autoprop. The majority of all comments on the Autoprop are very positive. You seem to have a strong negative opinion of the prop and I would appreciate hearing your criticisms, could save me from an expensive mistake.
