I need to replace my 1990's vintage Lewmar continous line furler. Been happy with it for the most part, it's just wearing out. I was planning on replacing it with a single line model, but I see in most of the sailing publications that continous line furlers are making a come back, although they seem to be targeting code zeros and assymeteric spinnackers.

Is this due to the possible slippage of the drum if trying to sail with the head sail partially furled? The large downwind sails are either all the way in or fully deployed so slippage isn't an issue.

    Confused, too many options.

I find that continuous line furlers are much slower than single line.
