    So Hoyt,

    What's the latest?

Have you considered playing with toe-in or toe-out of your pontoons?

What about rolling or canting them somewhat?

Is a submerged hydrofoil an option?

What about one that has adjustable depth from flush to ~2 feet?

I told you I'd get you flying eventually...

Adjustable hydrofoil is being mulled over in my mind.

Did the Chipola River yesterday in Marianna. Bent the prop all to hell on a limestone river bottom. :(

Rats, I hate it when that happens.

    Sorry to hear it Hoyt.

    $100 to fix the prop?

Can you straighten it out, or is it trash?

Sounds like maybe the shear pin didn't do its job?

    It's got a rubber clutch doesn't it?

You know, the ones that only work once.

    I forgot about those.

It's probably shot I'm sorry to say.

I had one let go simply because it was eight years old and tired.

Didn't even hit anything with it, nor did it have many hours on it...

Rubber clutch? OK, let's not get too deep into the subject of how many years behind the times I am....

I own two outboard motors; both small ones. One is about as old as I am, and the other is at least half that.

I dunno Hoyt, at least give it a try! Tights, a mask (please don't forget the mask) and a sweater emblazoned with a big H and a lightening flash . . . it could work! Need a speciality throwing weapon though: how about a twisted prop with razor sharp jagged edges? Naturally you'd be photographed nonchalantly standing astride a bucking power catamaran over the waves pushed by twin 250's . . . you'd have to paint snarly teeth on the bows of course, don't know if you'd want to go to all that trouble.

It's a sacrificial break away inside the hub designed to let-go when the prop hits rock so as not to damage the drive train but it renders the prop unserviceable other than to limp back to the dock at 1/4 throttle. And they can't be repaired, or at least that's what the guy selling new props will tell you. It's a good feature but a real drag when they just suddenly let go one day while you're flying along having a gay old time and haven't hit a damn thing.
