    Thanks.
I don't know if it would. Raising the whole engine a bit will help.
The engine came with an 8" pitch prop. I am going to replace that with a 9" pitch prop. That will definitely help.

I see in the video you are running her in very carefully.
Now we also need to see a video when she's run in and you had a beer and running her WOT
That little Honda will make her fly :D

Ok, one more thing you need to do before tackling (I just knew it :D) the next boat -

Is it possible to put a mini steering in the center of the boat with a basic seat - before you lift the motor too much ? It will cure all the distribution problems and be a lot more comfortable. You can then trim the boat in or out by moving your feet forward or backward ;) and it should plane easy once the motor is run in.

Great video, next time smile :D

It is possible to install steering but it just isn't worth the effort to me. Motor is definitely too low and must be raised at least an inch to an inch and a half. I will smile when it goes faster. :)

This boat just doesn't perform as it should have so it is back to the drawing board for me. It was a fun build and helped me clear the cobwebs from my brain and I learned a lot from it.

It will be fine for electric trolling around campsites on small streams but nothing more.

My thanks go out to messabout for taking the time to go out on it and share his valuable knowledge and opinions.

    Good times. :) :( :) :( :D

Wow... hang on there Hoyte !

Of course the boat will not perform, you're still running the motor in. When you can apply full power with better weight distribution it will be different when you can bring her on the plane !

The motor is not the problem. The problem is with the hull design and lack of adequate free-board given the pile-up of water between hulls where the bow waves meet. It still works but not very well and will never reach the performance levels for which I had hoped. Sure I can tweak it some but to what end? Better to build a new one to wrap around this beautiful motor.

I just watched the video again
one experiment that you should do is:- make a tiller extention and sit in the middle of the boat - you are going to learn LOTS MORE from that.
