    Hi everyone,

After some years owning sail yachts, I have decided to try my own buid. I'm new into this and I would like to have some guidance on what is the right way to structure the cost of building a sailing yacht. Over 100% total cost, what % of the cost should go to design, hull, interiors, etc? What are the right metrics to asses a budget?. Thank you all very much.

    Thanks

    Peter,

Thanks for your advise. I've been looking at it and seems like a good starting point.

Also, get a copy of Jay Benford's book, Small Ships. He discusses design and building costs at length. In addition, the book "The Gougeon Brothers on Boat Construction" discusses how to estimate building costs.
